Rand files contempt charges for Fauci. Senate resolution from Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs: certify the committee report on Anthony S. Fauci's refusal to answer under subpoena — and send it to the U.S. Attorney for D.C. for prosecution under 2 U.S.C. 192 and 194.
The record in the resolution: subpoenaed on COVID origins and risky life-sciences research; appeared July 29; took the Fifth after prepared remarks. Chairman Paul ruled the privilege unsupported — Biden's January 19, 2025 full pardon covers 2014 through the pardon date — and found waiver from the opening statement. Fauci still refused. Dropped. The Science took the Fifth. Now Congress moves.
