Prisha Mosley wrote on X on October 10, 2026 that all of the things she believed about herself as a child and teenager proved to be untrue. She said her doctors were unable to change her sex and could not stop her from growing up and maturing. Now a wife and mother, she wrote that trans was just a phase1.

reported cost of Mosley’s breast surgery

Kelsey Bolar’s June 26, 2024 IW Features piece reports that Mosley started taking testosterone at 17 under a team of doctors and counselors who led her to believe that drugs and surgery would cure her mental struggles. IW Features reported that a North Carolina plastic surgeon removed Mosley’s healthy breasts when she was 18, less than a year and a half after she started testosterone, at a cost of $7,100. Bolar reported that Mosley later became pregnant after assuming the treatment had left her infertile, and gave birth to a healthy baby boy by c-section on June 3. Now a mother, Mosley will never have the option to breastfeed her baby2. Her claim is now before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, which heard oral arguments in a medical gender transition malpractice complaint, the first of its kind in the state. The General Assembly overrode Gov. Josh Stein’s veto of House Bill 805 in July 2025, extending the malpractice claim period. A trial judge still dismissed her lawsuit in August 2025, even after the bill passed4. In New York, a jury awarded detransitioner Fox Varian $2 million in a similar case. Judge Jefferson Griffin put the question to defense counsel plainly: “Is it even practicing medicine or to tell a girl that she can grow a penis?”3

Parents have the right, and good reason, to resist puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for their children. In her Fox News opinion piece, Mosley writes that her parents “were misled by the doctors and therapists just as I was. ”5 HHS concluded that the harms of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries on minors are significant, long-term and inadequately tracked. The panel adjourned without a ruling date, but Mosley expects one before the end of the year3. Parents should demand that lawmakers protect their authority to resist puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for their children.
