META SETTLES BIG — AGE VERIFICATION ON FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM, 2-HOUR KID LIMITS, MIDNIGHT LOCKS...

Meta just agreed to age verification for Facebook and Instagram, boot accounts for kids under 13, slap 2-hour daily limits on minors, lock apps from midnight to 6 a.m., mute notifications during school hours, kill algorithmic feeds for teens, and let parents shut down autoplay and extreme content.

The settlement with state AGs hands parents real tools against social media addiction. APP praised the move as a precedent every tech giant must follow.

This is exactly the protection-first agenda voters demanded in APP’s February Cygnal poll: 81% back porn age verification with 66% strongly in favor — the hottest intensity in the survey. 83% want app-store age verification too. Parents are done letting Big Tech rob their kids of innocence.
