Security tossed former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom from Sunday's Fever–Sky game in Chicago — no reason given, by his account — after Sky guard Natasha Cloud confronted him for cheering a Sophie Cunningham three while wearing a shirt reading "WOMAN noun. adult human female." Cloud cursed him out in front of kids, posted a pro-trans manifesto after the game, and her coach praised her for it. The Sky knew he was coming; the GM texted back "Enjoy the game."
Freedom has declared for the 2027 WNBA draft to force the league to define its own rule: the CBA says "only players who are women" are eligible — and never says what a woman is. G League players told him the quiet part out loud: identify as a woman and the salary jumps from $45,000 to $1.4 million. "This is not a right or left issue," Freedom said. "I'm only here to defend women."
